Dieses Hostel hat uns von all den bisher in Costa Rica besuchten Hostels am besten gefallen. Die Unterkunft bietet eine tolle Aussicht und gute Lage. Außerdem ist sie sehr sauber und attraktiv gestaltet. Das Personal ist unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit und hat uns stets gut beraten. Herausragend war vor allem das Frühstück, welches jeden zweiten Tag variiert. Wir kosteten Pancakes, Waffeln und leckeren Toast.

nous avons passé un très bon séjour !
l’emplacement est idéal pour aller se balader aux alentours. très proche de la réserve de Monteverde.
Au matin, un petit déjeuné copieux est servi.
Et nous avons accès à la cuisine et tous les équipements nécessaires pour se faire à manger.

Loved my stay. Very nice people. They have everything you need. My wife and I stayed here after we saw a quetzal at the cloud forest, we will never forget it. The tap water is fresh and the breakfast/coffee in the morning is authentic and amazing. We highly recommend!!

Charly ist ein super Host. Man wohnt in seinem Garten und fühlt sich herzlich aufgehoben. Er bemüht sich ständig das es einem an nichts fehlt. Wir haben eine Wanderung mit ihm gemacht. Ich würde immer wieder kommen, man muss die Nähe aber auch mögen. Direkt ein Bach am Garten

Sehr einfach und sehr sauber! Warme Dusche, Waschmaschine auch vorhanden.

The view was amazing. The room was clean and spacious. (Delux double) very good value for the money. The breakfast was very good! The front desk was so helpful and friendly. Highly recommend!

Booked a deluxe private room on their website 1 month prior. We received an email saying that our room is no longer available and cancelled 48hours before our arrival leaving us in a terrible situation... Would not recommend to anyone

Wat een toffe plek! Je slaapt bij Charlie in zijn tuin en hij is echt fantastisch! Hij heeft zulke positieve energie en zorgt ervoor dat je je helemaal thuis voelt. Een klein stukje lopen en je hebt een prachtige uitkijkpunt voor de zonsondergang te pakken. Dank je wel voor je gastvrijheid Charlie! ✨

This hostel was amazing in Costa Rica. Quiet, quaint, and perfect for solo travel or small groups. There is always free coffee and tea, the rooms are serviced for you like a hotel, and laundry is also on site. Small and family run, this hostel takes care of you. DO NOT miss on the coffee your with Jeff! He was the best. Great location, clean, and very informative. Would stay here again!

We only stayed here one night and arrive late and left early so didn't get to fully appreciate staying here. We were touring around exploring Costa Rica for 8 nights in a 4 x camping so had some ground to cover. But we will be back to spend more time at the places we enjoyed. Charlie's place is cute. It's snuggled in alongside a stream and in front of his bus where he lives. There's probably only room for a few pitches (there were 3 cars with roof tents when we were there which is probably as many as can comfortably fit). It's by the road so expect some traffic noise until late evening. There's a toilet and hot water in the shower and a couple of outside sinks. I didn't see anywhere to prep food but Charlie is so hospitable, I'm sure he'd even let you inside his bus! He was welcoming, and made us coffee and fried plantain in the morning which was kind. We walked a few minutes from Charlie's place to see a wonderful sunset from a viewing point. I wish we'd had more time to get to know Charlie and maybe done some exploring with him.

Petit camping, pour poser une tente ou une voiture, vous avez les toilettes, une douche chaude, et le café du matin. Charly vous reçoit chaleureusement, il est incroyable, serviable et très attentionné.

Windows cannot be opened, therefore it gets hot in the rooms.

Great place to bring a camper van. It's beautiful, quite and the owner Charlie is great. He has washrooms, showers and fast wifi. Conveniently located near town and the cloud forest

Good value and good location. It is just a few minutes walking to the center of the village. Service was just okay. There is a great view from the shared area. No AC or fan in the room, but at night it gets cool enough in the town (at least in the end of November, when we went).

Charli is a super host. Not much English but sooo friendly. Great , safe small place with Hot shower, clean toilet and beautifull surroundings. We recommend highly. Hé lives on the grounds so is 24 hours available.

Best Choice!!

The extremely clean, comfortably furnished hostel enchants not only with unique flair, beautiful terrace overlooking the mountains, but also with really great staff! We were warmly welcomed and advised. Everyone here is so helpful, the reception, cleaning, as well as the kitchen-team that takes care of the breakfast, have already earned alone a 5 star rating!
A complete package that we have never experienced in a hostel!

El Pueblo is a traditional traveler's B&B and so there are tradeoffs as a result, but it almost perfectly met my needs as a solo traveler primarily focused on location over amenities.

The kitchen is available to guests and there's plenty of coffee and lounging space to read or pause to work out the day. I regret not taking advantage of the breakfast option for at least one morning.

The location is fantastic, and there's very limited parking on site or plenty nearby. The staff is very friendly, accommodating, and comfortable with English. Many Monteverde event tours, tickets, and shuttles can be booked on-site.

My room was as expected for a B&B in this price range, although the bed and pillows in my room were very stiff. I recommend bringing an extension cord or a 10ft cable -- there was only one outlet across the room from the bed/nightstand. Shower had hot water via a wall-heater, and it was all the space I needed as a solo traveler. Towels and basic soap were provided, but no shampoo.

Overall it's good for the type of stay it advertises, but temper expectations in alignment with pricing. Enjoy Monteverde and Santa Elena!
