small rooms and old furniture. bathrooms are smelly and dirty. common areas are nice and pool great. welcome drink is always nice!

I love the social scene, the free yoga classes, and access to the cowork office. The premise is very clean. The staff are very helpful and communicative. They accommodated my several changes, which I appreciate.
But oh god, like other reviews have said, the dorm rooms are terrible. They’re so crammed, smell really bad, and the storage space is horribly designed. I mean if we have to, we’ll get used to it, but I’m also thinking if you’re very tall or have big legs, there will be much discomfort. All the intended locks are not working and/or pretty much useless.
Lastly, while some tours are reasonably priced, for the most parts, Selina’s shuttle prices are high. However, the rides were all smooth and very nice drivers. If you could afford it for your peace of mind like I did, it might be worth it.

Sehr kleiner Dorm für 6 Personen. Leckeres Frühstück & sehr nettes Restaurant Personal. Schöne Gemeinschaftsumgebung (Feuerstelle, Pool, Sitzgelegenheiten). Gut gelegen direkt eine Strasse neben Hauptstrasse, wo unzählige Restaurants sind.

Like others have stated, this is a great place to meet people. The pool, bar, and public areas including a fire are nice. The staff were adequately friendly and helpful. The problem is the bedrooms are way too small for the number of people that are in them, and the bunks are wooden boxes which obstruct the light and ventilation. The whole room reeked of humidity, mold, and mildew. Fun placed to be, not a great place to sleep. Also, they charge $5 to rent a towel, which is obscene considering the prices that towels can be bought for ($10) and the towel rental prices at other hostels ($0.00 to $1.00)

El hostel es lindo, limpio. La habitación familiar es grande. El problema es que esta todo al rededor de la piscina y alli la gente grita mucho de noche - fue en el unico Selina que no pude dormir de los 4 que visite en Costa Rica

For my visit of 2 nights this place was fantastic and offered me exactly what I needed. It is located on the main road going towards the La Fortune waterfall, so it is a busy road and the rooms are right next to the road. It has a small outdoor kitchen with seating and a small pool next to the rooms. This setting is very inviting. The entire place is on a very small property and every inch is made great use off. I would go definitely back and stay there as it is also walkable within 15 to 20 min to downtown la Fortuna. If you are looking for a place to hang out during the day it might not be the right place to stay but it has everything you need during a short trip.

Nice looking place poor service. There was a lady Paula Mena I believe had a bad attitude, seems like she had issues with men. I would not recommend going to this Selinas. But other locations are great like the one in Puerto Viejo and even in Panama . Orian the yoga Instructor I forgot from Israel , she was an angel . Very informative work shop classes etc. But the lady Paula I recommend has to go not such a nice person..

Good price, nice clean room, about a 10 minute walk from the center of town, with self check in. Shower had the electric heater which was warmer only when running the water low

Das Selina in La Fortuna ist ein sehr gelungener Ort. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und die Annehmlichkeiten genutzt, die es bietet. Wir haben an einem Kennenlernen mit Willkommens-Getränk teilgenommen und erste Kontakte geknüpft. In der Gemeinschaftsküche haben wir zu Abend gegessen und gefrühstückt. Außerdem gab es abends noch einen DJ und lustige Spiele zur Unterhaltung.
Der Pool ist klein, liegt aber mitten im Geschehen.
Das Personal war sehr freundlich und Tiere haben wir auch gesehen.
Wir sind als Familie dort gewesen, aber der Schwerpunkt liegt auf jüngeren Leuten mit gehobenen Ansprüchen.
Trotzdem fanden wir die Atmosphäre sehr freundlich.
Der Pool ist klein, liegt aber mitten im Geschehen.
Das Personal war sehr freundlich und Tiere haben wir auch gesehen.
Wir sind als Familie dort gewesen, aber der Schwerpunkt liegt auf jüngeren Leuten mit gehobenen Ansprüchen.

We we were with a big group there for we had multiple rooms to our selfs, the 6 person room we had was a little crowded for 6 guys, but well, we made it work. It's very nicely located near an active vulcano. And there are alot of side activities to do near by!

I didn't stay here, only went for a drink. But bar and restaurant are pretty good. You know to expect good things when coming here even if you ar not staying. Friendly staff and good drinks, except Mezcal, don't order Mezcal.

Selina is on the more expensive end for hostels but in my opinion, this location was worth it. My friends and I enjoyed the movie room, pool, and library area. Yoga was incredible - both in the morning and afternoon and it’s open to everyone, not just people staying at the hostel. Our room was clean, air conditioned, and quiet. We enjoyed all of the food and drinks we got, especially the coconut smoothie bowl. The staff were kind and helpful and the tours we booked were reasonably priced. Although there were quite a few groups traveling together it was still easy to meet new people. Overall, we really would definitely recommend and would stay again in the future.

Basic but comfortable room. Very friendly and helpful staff. 10 mins walk from town. Well equipped outdoor shared kitchen. Nice small pool. Only drawback is the busy road running past the hotel but that goes quiet at night.

Overall really enjoyed my stay. Friendly, helpful staff. The breakfast included was amazing (paid a little extra when booking for it). My only complaint is that few small harmless bugs did get into my teepee room, and it would be hard for two people to comfortably move around. Luckily I was solo so this was no issue for me and we are provided a net over the bed. Not sure if the other rooms get bugs, but considering we're surrounded by jungle I would assume they do. I felt safe in my net while I slept.

Really cool spot, amazing pool with all the little lights around! Close to the center, kitchen clean, vibes were on point, breakfast delicious but quite pricy. The tours were fantastic, we had a great time! Dorms smelled like mold and the music was quite loud at night but other then that, gorgeous hostel, i recommand! The staff was also nice too.

Stopped in to have a few drinks and check out the live dj…
Pros: 2 for 1 drink special is pretty awesome, it’s on from 6pm to 8pm. The bartender Gabriella is super nice. Also, their ceviche with patacones is to die for. Sooooo delicious!
Cons: the vibe was pretty dull for a Friday night. The dj was basically playing while there weren’t so many people, and those that were their were just kind of hanging out, not very social. Other bars in the area are busier.

I have been so stressed out about my personal emergency (I cannot share details, it is too traumatic) and now I have to stress about this. It has been over a week since I have heard anything. I also went on their website to send a customer support form and have heard nothing.
I will never recommend Selina to anyone, especially after I shared my situation with friends who have stayed at Selina all over the world and have had instances where they were charged MONTHS later by Selina randomly and even when a location closed where they showed UP to their reservation and had no idea the location closed. They confirmed that their customer support is nonexistent.
