Can't say enough great things about this restaurant. If i could, I would give it 10 stars. My wife and I had no reservations, but we took a chance and were greeted by the most charming restaurant manager who immediately made us feel like VIP regulars. As waiters darted past us during the peak lunch hour, we were handed complimentary glasses of Proseco while we anxiously awaited what would be the most amazing dining experience. Massimiliano, the son of the head chef, Ruggero Bovo and the aforementioned manager, apologized for not being able to seat us outside by the canal, but took us through the restaurant to a garden area out back surrounded by colorful houses and vibrant flowers. What a dream-like setting. People come from all over to experience the risotto, and if you're ever fortunate enough to eat here, I highly recommend it. What an amazing lunch. The food was so fresh and delicious, the service was incomparable, and the atmosphere was unbeatable. All so simple and effortlessly elegant. If you should ever find yourself on the island of Burano, I strongly suggest having a meal at Al Gatto Nero. Like everyone else who eats here, you won't be disappointed.

Excellent accueil.
Le risotto était délicieux et les pâtes à la vongole étaient assaisonnées et cuites parfaitement.
Nous avons rarement mangé un tiramisu aussi bon.

Un accueil et service au top ! Aux petits soins pour nous ! Ma fille est repartie avec 3 sucettes et des gâteaux sablés vénitiens ! Nous avons pris 2 plats de pâtes (bolognaise et encre de seiche alors que pas à la carte) je recommande vivement ce restaurant.

Such a shame. From start to finish this was not great stale bread, overcooked flavourless fish, poor service. Sardines were charcoal tasting and dry, squid was chewy, artichoke was just greasy tasting, no salt pepper or garlic flavour on anything. Does not deserve anywhere near the praise it is getting. When I discreetpy informed the waiter the sardines were dry he couldn't be bothered to even say sorry. Tourist trap credentials is all this restaurant offers.

Unfriendly staff and very rude service from all the waiters, didn’t care to even say hello or welcome while we were patiently waiting. Prices are extremely expensive, for this you can expect some respect and politeness. In the end we got lucky not to eat there.

Excellent maître d' - very funny too. We were told the next table was 45 minutes later and we were happy to accept whilst we wandered the island. Lovely taste of Italy, literally and metaphorically. We were two adults and a 12 year old. Excellent value.

We absolutely loved our lunch at Al Gatto Nero last week. Fresh from a morning visit to Torcello on a sunny March day we were given a thoughtful choice of table, inside or out (had to be, out), with a friendly welcome from owner Massimino that set the tone for a great first visit. Next, complimentary glasses of Prosecco accompanied a run down of the day’s seafood. A stunning plate of sweet tellines and razor clams got things going, matched with a fine bottle of Lugana (thank you M, great advice), so good we had two. Next, as a primi,the risotto. This was, at one level, just a simple risotto. At another, just sublime. THE risotto. After that, wild turbot, king prawns, tira misu, coffee, “esse” Burano biscuits. Look, just go. It's wonderful. It's even “twinned in spirit” with the Seahorse in Dartmouth. Quite right too.

Lieu incontournable si vous venez sur Burano. Une petite cours très agréable, une cuisine fabuleuse (meilleures pasta à la vongole que j’ai pu manger). Nous n’avions pas de réservation, nous avons sympathisé avec le chef qui nous a fait passer devant tout le monde et nous avons pu avoir une place. Je recommande à 100%, encore merci pour ce moment inoubliable.

First of all, when you visit Venice you should definitely organize a day-trip to Murrano & Burrano. Regarding Al Gatto, the setting is fantastic, especially when seated outside. However, the appetizers were completely unrefined while the pasta was quite interesting, extremely expensive though. Eventually, we payed 155€ for two appetizers and a pasta - without drinks.

Experiencia muy recomendable. Pescado fresco y muy bien hecho. Pedimos spaghetti con almejas, sepia a la veneciana y fritura de pescado, todo muy bueno. No dejéis de pedir el tiramisú, muy rico!!
Los camareros atentos y amables, nos ayudaron con los horarios del vaporetto.

10/10, good experience. We encountered an unexpected incident where a gentleman accidentally knocked over our wine, creating a bit of a scene. However, the staff’s response to this mishap was nothing short of remarkable. They were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we moved past the incident smoothly, making it a top-notch experience in terms of handling the situation. What truly stood out and impressed us the most was the professionalism and attention to detail demonstrated by the team, especially our waiter, a gentleman of a certain age. This level of service made our dining experience memorable for the right reasons.

Really welcoming and friendly, the service was impeccable and the food fantastic. This was a treat to myself long promised and the people and the food did not disappoint. I had the Cuttlefish Venician style and it was delicious.

Un des meilleurs restaurants que nous ayons fait au cours de notre périple de 3 semaines en Italie du nord. Plateau de fruit de mer extraordinaire d'une fraicheur remarquable et personnel sympathique. Bons vins conseillés par le sommelier et en dessert mascarpone à l'amaretto à se damner. Réservation obligatoire.
