Ce superbe hôtel est situé au pied des collines et au cœur de la campagne lucchésienne. C'est, sans l’ombre d’un doute, l'endroit idéal pour un séjour romantique où règnent calme et sérénité. Cette ancienne demeure du XVIIIe siècle, à l’architecture caractéristique des fameuses villas de Lucca, réserve un accueil vraiment chaleureux à ses hôtes. Tout concourt à la beauté du lieu : la piscine, les jardins Renaissance avec magnolias, camélias, azalées et pins, et l’entrée majestueuse du salon principal. Les propriétaires, Andrea et Alessia, ont su conserver les origines de la villa, avec sa chapelle néoclassique encore parfois utilisée pour la célébration de mariages. Chacune des 15 chambres est décorée avec un cachet particulier dans le choix des tissus et des plus infimes détails. Le petit déjeuner peut se prendre sur la terrasse en été. L'établissement possède également son propre restaurant, Botton d'Oro, qui sert une cuisine savoureuse et raffinée.

Our train got delayed while we were on it and we advised the hotel right away, then we got to the station and the private transfer company the hotel organised wasn’t there and charged us €30 for a no show fee without us signing or being aware of any cancellation policies. The hotel asked us to pay the €30 in cash so they could give it to the taxi company. When we questioned the hotel we were told that we didn’t give enough notice, even though we couldn’t have given anymore notice or control the situation. We ended up paying the €30 as we needed the private taxi company to transfer us to the train station at 5:20am and didn’t want to be left stranded. The hotel refused to reimburse €30.
Location is 10-15 minute drive outside of Lucca main town and taxi’s are quite expensive in the area.
Villa Marta has a very unique atmosphere and something that you don't easily find in other places. When you are there you can really relax in the lovely rustic rooms or the beautiful gardens.
It is a very charming and elegant place that brings you a feeling of serenity and home.
For all these reasons we decided to come back and have our wedding there this past summer.

Incomprehensible heating system; for this, I reduced the rating (update: they fixed the issue during the night and reduced the invoice taxes and cost of the breakfasts).
