Demeure bourgeoise du XIXe siècle, la Villa Scacciapensieri bénéficie d'une position privilégiée dans la charmante campagne siennoise. Une oasis de tranquillité, comme son nom l’indique « sans soucis ». Cet hôtel est parfait pour se recueillir et jouir de la quiétude du lieu tout en savourant les charmes et les divertissements de la ville. Divisé en 3 édifices, tous d’époque, il offre un grand choix de chambres : de la plus luxueuse à la plus traditionnelle, avec confort et qualité des services de haut niveau. Le parc, au style italien symétrique, parfaitement ordonné, où passer l’après-midi devient un vrai plaisir et un inoubliable moment de détente. Ce n’est pas un hasard si de grandes personnalités comme Marcello Mastroianni, Grace Kelly ou Claudia Cardinale ont choisi cet hôtel ! La vue sur Sienne et la campagne est une vraie carte postale. Petit déjeuner et restaurant d’excellente qualité.

Mit dem Bus (Haltestelle direkt neben der Hoteleinfahrt), ist man für 1,70€ schnell im Zentrum.
The rooms are a little tired and there isn’t much atmosphere for the younger generations. The dining room was creepily quiet like a library at both breakfast and dinner.
My husband and I stayed in the suite which is under the rooftop terrace and we could hear the metal furniture being moved on the tiles (like fingernails on a chalkboard) at night and in the morning which impacted our sleep.
Some of the reception staff are lovely however a
we were treated with what can only be described as thinly veiled contempt by the maître de in the restaurant. She went over and above for the older couples in the restaurant and hotel (eg providing complimentary limoncello or vin santo) and chatting to them for ages whilst we struggled to get their attention to order our meals.
The food was nice but a bit too pretentious and we preferred to eat in town for more authentic fare.
We were disappointed given the price of the room and the other reviews.
