Los cuartos superiores son muy buenos….pero el personal del restaurante deja mucho que desear

Schöne, toll gelegene Anlage auf knapp 3000 m ü.M. Einfache, saubere Bungalows mit genügend Decken und einem Heizstrahler. Nachts wird es kalt. Sehr freundliches Personal. Restaurant gut, Forelle hervorragend.
Gut angelegte Trails mit Kolibri Beobachtungs-Station.

I was amazed by how close we could get to nature, despite being just a few hours away from San Jose.

We joined the Quetzal Tour starting at 5:30 AM. To participate in this tour at this time, we needed to rent a car and stay overnight at the Paraiso Quetzal Lodge.

For the first hour, we patiently waited, but the Quetzal didn't appear. However, we had plenty to do, such as admiring the mini avocados tree, which is the main food of the Quetzal, playing with the guide's dog, seeing many fly catchers, and we never got bored. Afterwards, we moved to a different location and walked a few minutes along a trail. Finally, we encountered the Quetzal!! I'm in awe of the guide's knowledge and their ability to quickly spot the Quetzal. The Quetzal that emerged in the midst of the great nature was truly beautiful, and its beauty was so mesmerizing that it made us lose track of time. On the way back, we visited a person who owned precious Quetzal feathers and they showed them to us. It was truly the best tour of my life.

The lodge where we stayed was equipped with sufficient facilities for cold weather and was very comfortable. During dinner, we were able to enjoy Casado, a traditional Costa Rican dish. The seasoning of the trout was extremely delicious. The hummingbirds we could see in front of the dining hall were breathtakingly beautiful. It is definitely a five-star place with no complaints.

Great bunglalow view! We loved the hummingbird garden and so many birds we saw there. We went to the questzal experience and did see the mystical scared birds! We only spent one night there and felt it was enough.
We enjoyed the nice view in the room, the trails and the wildlife.
Food is okay but you dont have many options.
The room gets pretty cold at night.

We went to have a meal as a family. We reserved a table about 2h before lunch. Then when we arrived to have our lunch, they told us we had to choose our food in advance... And seated other people that arrived after us without making a reservation (I asked the other clients). Apparently a newbie made a mistake but the manager didn't want to take responsibility. He was very aggressive. The view is great of course. The menu isn't local but international, and a bit pricey for the area. It's one of my rare bad experiences in Costa Rica.

Ich durfte zwei Nächte bei Euch als ganz normaler Gast ein Häuschen für mich alleine buchen und war überglücklich, dass ich zum dritten Male bei euch sein durfte. Leider wollte meine Gesundheit nicht so, wie ich es mir vorstellte und brauchte Eure Hilfe!! Einen grossen Dank an den Chef Jorge Serrano und seine fantastischen Worte - Du bist nicht nur Gast sondern auch Freund und für einen solchen tute ich alles! Was du auch getan hast lieber Jorge!!! nochmals herzlichen Dank! den 20. und 21. Januar 2024 werden wir nicht so schnell vergessen! Es grüsst dich Roberto Danke!

We love this place. The location and the views. The service is great, the staff is very friendly and helpful. We have stayed here several times. Highly recommended.

El sitio merece la pena por su ubicación. Tiene un montón de senderos por los que acceder a plena naturaleza con muchísimas posibilidades de encontrar todo tipo de especies de aves y anfibios. Las habitaciones dejan que desear puesto que no están bien aisladas, y por tanto se mete el frío dentro. Las habitaciones superiores, que se ofrecen con jacuzzi, no valen lo que cuestan, ya que es un tipo de jacuzzi ya muy viejo, que cuesta llenar, salpica mucho la manguera y es bastante incómodo. El personal es encantador en general y el desayuno muy bueno y contundente también.

Hotel de montaña situado a 2700 metros con habitaciones tipo bungalow de madera. El servicio y entorno es muy correcto pero las habitaciones pecan de falta de aislamiento y el frío que sube desde el suelo es importante. Los sistemas de calefacción son insuficientes. Prepárate a dormir con chaqueta y andar por la habitación con zapatos. El servicio de restaurante funciona con menú pero es muy correcto.

This place is amazing (especially when you've spent all week in the hot lowlands and it's a lovely 12 degrees C at this place)! Beautiful gardens, forest trails are right there, the cabins are super nice and have heaters, and loads of hummingbirds and endemic birds all over the place (large-footed finches and black-billed nightingale thrushes everywhere). Also, some of the best food I had during my week in CR! I cannot recommend this lodge enough, we even saw a male quetzal right from the hummingbird deck (which is also loaded with amazing hummingbirds like talamanca and fiery-throated)

I was a bit confused as to why the bird fruit feeder blind was off-limits (I guess it's private, but can't they just kick me out when it's needed? I only saw people in there once on my two night stay... maybe they're trying to preemptively prevent drama from having to ask guests to step out?), but that's a pretty minor complaint.

This was one of my favorite hotels/lodges I've ever stayed at anywhere. And, while I didn't have to do this since I was staying there, I'd say the day pass is totally worth it if you aren't staying overnight. If I ever make it back to this part of CR I will absolutely stay here again!

Voici une adresse pour les amoureux de la nature, tranquillité. De confortables petits chalets éparpillés à flan de montagne, respectant l'intimité. Un jardin de colibris qui saura vous distraire un moment. Une très bonne table et un excellent service. La salle à manger est agrémentée d'un foyer. Un incontournable au Costa Rica. (voyage 2019)

Amazing food, great service, super views and location, only challenge i faced was path to the rooms was very narrow. Other than that amazing experience.
