Détail du séjour : 10 days Namibia Explore - 10 jours

Jour 1: Monday- Airport to Windhoek

As soon as you land, Discovery Transfer and Tours will pick you up from the Hosea Kutako International Airport. The airport Is 45 km outside Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia. It has been a long journey, you will be dropped off at Discovery Guest House. After you have rested, a free township tour will be arranged for the afternoon. Dinner will be at own expense at the restaurant of your choice.

Jour 2: Tuesday- Windhoek to Sossusvlei

We will pick you up from your Hotel or Guesthouse at 8am and depart at 9am straight on the way south to world-famous Sossusvlei via picturesque Spreetshoogte Pass. We will then have a Stop-over at the view point to appreciate endless view of the Namib. Our lunch at the Solitaire oasis. We will arrive at the lodge or campsite around 3-4 pm. This time is extremely hot, we recommend that you spend the day cooling off by the pool. Early rest is required as tomorrow you are expected to wake up early in the morning.

Jour 3: Wednesday- Sossusvlei Area

Early in the morning, we will visit the Sesriem Gate to the remarkable Sossusvlei. We start off with climbing picturesque Dune 45, experiencing beauty and vastness of the orange-colored landscape. Off-road drive to the Dead Vlei, a place of vast desert pan where dried-up, ancient acacias stand silent in the impressive, open-air gallery. If you have enough energy, you can climb one of the highest dunes on Earth, the ‚Big Daddy ‘or ‚Big Mama. After the morning excursion, we will return back to Sesriem for lunch. We will take a break for 1-2 hours. Once the heat subsides, we will take a short excursion to Sesriem Canyon. This will be our last activities for the day.

Jour 4: Thursday- Sossusvlei-Walvis Bay and Swakopmund

Namibia is a country of contrasts. Today we will move from desert to sea. On our way we will cross the Tropic of Capricorn and traverse the Gaub and the Kuiseb passes, driving down to the dry river bed at the bottom of the Kuiseb Canyon before climbing up the other side and watching the spectacular desert landscape unfold before us. Having arrived at the coast, we will make a stop in Walvis Bay to enjoy the view of flamingos and other birds in the lagoons. We will take a short break for lunch. We overnight in Swakopmund. Dinner tonight is at the client's own expense in a local restaurant.

Jour 5: Friday- Swakopmund

Explore the quaint town of Swakopmund. You may wish to book an optional day tour (for own account) in Swakopmund (guided tour through the Mondesa township, quad-biking, sand-boarding, a scenic flight over the Skeleton coast or a catamaran cruise in Walvis Bay). Many optional activities are on offer (for own account); visit the aquarium, various museums or the crystal gallery.

Jour 6: Saturday- Swakopmund ,Cape cross ,Twyfelfontein

In the morning, we depart from the coastal town of Swakopmund to Cape Cross and Cape Fur Seal colony. After visiting the seals, we will turn east into the desert, towards Brandberg Damaraland, one of the most magnificent and majestic places in Namibia. In this area you can find elephants, giraffes, ostriches and a variety of antelopes!

Jour 7: Sunday- Twyfelfontein, Bushman Rock Painting

Twyfelfontein is a rocky site situated in the Kunene Region of north western Namibia. The site contains around 2,000 rock carvings and in 2007, UNESCO approved it as a World Heritage Site. The site is one of the largest and most important concentrations of rock art in Africa, and was proclaimed a National Monument in 1952. Experience cultural and ethnic meeting with the Damara tribe at the Living Museum surrounded by fascinating nature, rock formations and magnificent landscape of Damaraland.

Jour 8: Monday- Twyfelfontein - Etosha National Park

After breakfast, depart Damaraland and drive to the Etosha National Park. Visit a Damara village near Twyfelfontein and learn more about the culture and the tradition of this half-nomadic people. We are expected to arrive in Etosha in the afternoon. We will drive through some parts of the National park in search of various games. We will be at our respective accommodation just before sunset. Dinner will sum-up the adventure and rest will be required so that we can be able to wake up early and fresh for the full day game drive tomorrow.

Jour 9: Tuesday- Etosha National Park

An early rise will be encouraged to have the feel of nature and the fresh breeze. Soon after breakfast we will then start our game drive to allow us to have a magnificent exploration, we will visit the waterholes. We will get to visit the Etosha pan (salt pan) before game driving across the park in expedition of coming across the Big 4 and other animal species. A light lunch will allow us to rest, gathering energy for our next adventure. After a short relaxation we will then visit our last waterhole that will be the last appreciation of Namibia’s beauty. Before sunset we will be back to our accommodation place so that we can have dinner as we share stories of our experiences of the day and also share and compare beautiful photos.

Jour 10: Wednesday- Etosha to Windhoek

Be prepared for the long, scenic transit back to Windhoek. We pass through towns and rural areas, stopping in the small town of Okahandja, the home of Namibia’s largest wood carving market. The stalls operate on a local co-operative basis and offer a vast array of truly Namibian souvenirs. We are due back in Windhoek in the afternoon before 16:00 unless prior arrangements are made. You will be dropped off at your accommodation.
